Digital Preservation Policy

The Journal of Content Validation is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of all published articles. To maintain the integrity and availability of research, we follow a robust digital preservation strategy that ensures that all content remains accessible to the global research community, even as digital technologies evolve.

1. Archiving and Preservation

We utilize established digital preservation systems and services to safeguard the longevity of published articles. The Journal of Content Validation partners with several reputable platforms to ensure that all articles are archived in a secure and sustainable manner, making them retrievable for future generations. All published articles are archived by the Malaysian Citation Center, Citefactor, National Library of Malaysia, and the ICRRD owned web-based archive.

2. Third-Party Archiving Services

In addition to our own archiving system, the journal’s content is preserved by several trusted third-party digital repositories, including LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) is a widely recognized digital preservation system that helps protect scholarly content against data loss by creating multiple copies of articles across different, geographically distributed servers.

These services are vital for the journal's commitment to providing uninterrupted access to its articles, even in the event of platform disruptions or technological changes.

3. Metadata and DOI Preservation

Every article published in the Journal of Content Validation is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The DOI provides a permanent, stable link to the article, facilitating long-term citation and reference. We ensure that all metadata (including titles, abstracts, authorship, and keywords) associated with the articles is preserved and updated, maintaining the integrity and discoverability of the research.

4. Backup and Redundancy

To ensure continuous access to published articles, regular backups are made of all journal content and associated metadata. The Journal of Content Validation uses secure cloud-based systems for redundant storage, ensuring that data is not lost in the event of hardware failure or other unforeseen issues.

5. Open Access Accessibility

As an open-access journal, we believe in providing unrestricted access to our published content. All articles are freely available to the global community. To further enhance accessibility, articles are made available in standard formats (PDF, HTML, etc.) to support diverse platforms and devices.

6. Retention Period

We aim to ensure the digital preservation of content for the long term. Articles published in the Journal of Content Validation will remain available indefinitely, and we will continue to update and maintain the systems necessary to ensure ongoing access to our archives.

7. Action in Case of Platform Disruption

In the event of any disruption to the journal’s platform or hosting services, our digital preservation policy ensures that articles are still accessible through the third-party archiving services mentioned above. We are committed to ensuring that readers and researchers can always access our content, regardless of technical challenges.

8. Compliance with Preservation Standards

The Journal of Content Validation adheres to international standards and best practices for digital preservation, including those outlined by the Open Archival Information System (OAIS) and other preservation frameworks. We regularly assess our digital preservation practices to ensure they align with the evolving needs of academic publishing.

9. Updates to the Policy

As technology evolves, we continuously review and update our digital preservation practices to ensure our content remains accessible and secure. Any updates to this policy will be communicated to authors and stakeholders.

By following this digital preservation policy, the Journal of Content Validation ensures that its published research remains available, accessible, and protected for years to come, supporting the global academic community's needs for reliable, long-term access to high-quality, peer-reviewed research.
